Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Excellent, local homemade food. Owner is very friendly and such a charming little restaurant. You can see the older ladies in the back making all food from scratch. One of the better meals we had in Italy. They have a lot of choices which is great. Definitely get the bread as well because it is delicious."
"Incredibly nice and cozy, excellent home cooked food, reasonable prices. Space is a little tight, but this is part of the place's charm. They close early (you can't have dinner here), but for lunch it's perfect."
"We found this restaurant at random while wandering in the streets of Pise, and we feel very lucky. If you’re after a typical italian experience this is the place to go. People are really nice, the food is really tasty and not expensive at all. We paid a little less than 40€ for us both with wine."
"Most authentic experience. Best food in Pisa. Walked past and stopped by the smell of fresh food, all laid out in the window to choose from. I got a mix and match of all the things I wanted. Local people coming in to eat home made food at local prices! They even vacuum seal food to take away!"
"Fish and meatballs excellent. Ribolita and potato okay. 2 primo, 2 secondo, 2 contorno was €45 take away."
"Want some honest food at an honest price? Real Italian homemade food style? The best place to eat in Pisa, period! You won't leave anything on your plate! And if like me you will even take away!"
"We came here last February, didn’t plan was walking past late morning. The smell was amazing everything looked so good we had to go in. First time in Italy, first time trying aubergine Parmigiana and white lasagna. Their potatoes were amazing aswel. Ever since I have been ordering these dishes but they haven’t been as nice. Thank you for welcoming us in and for your original recipes that has been handed down through your family run business."
"The food is very good (a bit on the oily side maybe), the staff is friendly. They have a lot of dishes prepared ahead and can warm it up for you to eat in. The only thing I didn't like is that they don't have a set menu. Similar places usually have a set you can have for lunch, where you can get 2 mains and a side dish to your liking for ~€10. At this place, you'll just have to randomly pick a couple of dishes until you think you have enough food, and then the cashier decides how much it is based on his/her mood (at least that's what it seemed like). In my case it was €15 for the attached picture. It felt a bit expensive compared to other places I've been to, even compared to Rome. But again, the food itself was great."
